Frequently asked questions in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, & Lee County
What services does Evict-A-Guanas provide?
We specialize exclusively in the humane capture, removal, and lawful euthanasia of invasive green iguanas and certain nuisance reptiles in Cape Coral, Fort Myers & Lee County. We also offer preventative maintenance plans for ongoing infestations.
Are iguanas protected in Florida?
No. Green iguanas are an invasive, non-native species in Florida and are not protected (except by anti-cruelty laws). The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) encourages property owners to humanely remove them.
How do you humanely remove iguanas?
We follow FWC-approved humane euthanasia methods that cause minimal stress and pain to the animal, ensuring full compliance with state wildlife guidelines.
Florida law requires humane euthanasia of all captured green iguanas. Relocation and release are prohibited. Our approved methods include catchpoles, live traps, and PCP air rifles (pellet guns) where lawful.
Why should I remove iguanas from my property?
Iguanas can cause serious damage by:
• Burrowing into seawalls and undermining foundations
• Damaging docks and landscaping
• Leaving droppings that may carry salmonella
• Competing with native wildlife
Do you relocate iguanas?
No. Under Florida law, captured iguanas cannot be relocated and released into the wild. They must be humanely euthanized on-site or taken for lawful disposal.
How much does iguana removal cost?
Pricing is based on the number of iguanas and frequency of service.
We offer:
Trap Fees minimum 2-traps
One Time Removal Fee
(See Service Rates page)
Do you offer same-day service?
In many cases, yes. Depending on availability, we can often provide same-day or next-day removal in Cape Coral & Fort Myers for urgent situations.
Will you clean up after removal?
Yes. Upon request, we will safely remove and dispose of iguana remains off your property for a small additional disposal fee.
Is your company insured?
Absolutely. We carry general liability insurance to protect you and your property during service.
What areas do you serve?
We primarily serve Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and all of Lee County. We can also travel to nearby counties for larger jobs or ongoing contracts.
Do you work with HOAs, marinas, and commercial properties?
Yes. We have tailored service plans for homeowners’ associations, marina operators, and commercial property owners.
Do you remove other wildlife animals besides iguanas?
Yes. In addition to iguana removal, we also handle select nuisance wildlife situations commonly found throughout Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and surrounding Lee County areas. Depending on the situation, we may assist with animals such as coyotes, armadillos, raccoons, opossums, and other nuisance wildlife causing property damage or safety concerns.
However, certain wildlife species are protected under Florida state and federal laws. Protected animals such as owls, native birds, migratory birds, protected reptiles, and certain endangered species cannot legally be trapped, relocated, harmed, or removed without specific state or federal authorization.
At Evict-A-Guanas, we strictly follow Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) regulations to ensure all wildlife management is handled legally, ethically, and responsibly. If we are unable to assist with a protected species, we will do our best to help guide you toward the appropriate agency or licensed specialist.
